Privacy Policy

Personal data collected through WeCar (wecar-asia.com) is processed by Roméo Ivaldy, the service's publisher (company being incorporated). Contact: hello@wecar-asia.com.

Account and profile: first and last name, email address, phone number (and its verification status), date of birth, gender, profile photo, ride preferences, as well as reputation and progression elements (level, points, badges).

Vehicle (drivers): type, brand, model, color, number of seats, and licence plate.

Trips and location: departure and arrival points, precise geographic coordinates (pickup / drop-off), dates, times, number of seats, and the cost-sharing amount.

Bookings and reviews: booking history, ratings and comments given and received.

Messaging: the content of conversations exchanged between users through the Platform.

Payments: records of agreed amounts, cash-settlement confirmations, and any disputes. WeCar collects no funds and does not collect any card number.

Usage and technical data: online presence status, connection data, device, and technical logs necessary for the operation and security of the service.

We use this data to: create and manage your account; connect drivers and passengers and calculate cost-sharing; enable messaging, reviews, and calls; ensure trust and safety (fraud and abuse prevention); send you service-related communications; and comply with our legal obligations.

Processing is based, depending on the case, on the performance of the contract (providing the service), our legitimate interest (safety, fraud prevention, service improvement), your consent (where required), and our legal obligations.

Carpooling involves sharing information between users. Your first name, photo, ratings and reviews, and — for drivers — vehicle and trip information are visible to the relevant other users so the journey can be organized with confidence.

We use technical providers that process data on our behalf: Supabase (database and authentication, including SMS verification), Vercel (hosting), LiveKit (audio/video calls), MapTiler (mapping), and OSRM (route calculation). If you sign in via Google or Facebook, those providers are involved for authentication.

No data is sold. We share data only in the cases described here or where required by law.

Some of our providers (notably Vercel and Supabase) may host or process data outside Cambodia. We ensure such transfers are subject to appropriate safeguards.

We keep your data for as long as your account is active and for the period necessary for the purposes described, then in accordance with applicable legal periods. You may request deletion of your account at any time.

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data. As no system is infallible, we cannot, however, guarantee absolute security.

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, object to, restrict, and port your data, as well as the right to withdraw your consent. To exercise them, write to hello@wecar-asia.com.

The service is reserved for people aged at least 18. We do not knowingly collect data about minors.

We may update this policy. The version in force is the one published on the site.
